Our mission is to advocate for a healthcare system for British Columbia that is reliable, affordable, and environmentally sustainable.

Responsible, made-in-B.C. energy: It’s how our health care system powers healthy lives.

What we care about

Did you know…

Nearly 99% of pharmaceutical feedstocks and reagents are derived from natural gas and petrochemicals. Source

Our healthcare system relies heavily on materials from oil & gas products. Revenue generated from natural resources contributes significantly to the ever-rising costs of delivering health care.

Six issues of concern

  1. Economic Instability and Healthcare Cuts: Misleading campaigns against British Columbia energy projects could lead to economic instability. This instability may result in budget cuts, directly impacting the quality and accessibility of healthcare services in BC.
  2. Global Demand and Healthcare Innovation: Ignoring the reality of global energy demand could hinder BC’s ability to invest in cutting-edge medical technologies and research. Our healthcare system’s advancement depends on a strong, diversified economy.
  3. Job Losses in Healthcare Sector: Stifling natural resource development could lead to widespread job losses, including in the healthcare sector. This could result in a shortage of medical professionals and support staff in BC hospitals and clinics.
  4. International Relations and Medical Supplies: Failure to recognize British Columbia’s potential in meeting global energy needs may strain international relationships. This could affect BC’s access to essential medical supplies and equipment from other countries.
  5. Environmental Concerns and Public Health: Misrepresenting Canada’s efforts in renewable energy might divert attention from real environmental issues affecting public health in BC. It’s crucial to have a balanced understanding of our energy mix and its impacts. The Health & Energy Integrity Group believes that misleading claims and use of imagery must be called out and corrected.
  6. Indigenous Communities and Healthcare Access: Opposing Indigenous-led LNG projects could negatively impact the economic well-being of these communities, potentially limiting their access to quality healthcare services.

By promoting accurate information about the energy sector and its importance to our economy, we can ensure the continued strength and growth of BC’s healthcare system. It’s time to work together for a healthier, more prosperous future for all British Columbians.
